Adam Klipple

Adam Klipple, who has been described as “a standout pianist who has gone to school on McCoy Tyner and Cecil Taylor and earned his degree,” plays piano, Hammond organ, sampler, and a variety of vintage keyboards. Adam leads three of his own groups. The Organ Soul Explosion, his Hammond organ quartet, explores many styles of electric jazz from the organ trio to the present. Sneak makes melodic, otherworldly pop songs, while The Masters of Tashkent is his eight-piece Soul-Uzbek-HindustaniFunk orchestra.

A composer and arranger, Adam and Drive-By Leslie toured southeast Asia and the Pacific Rim and garnered touring and composing grants from Arts International and Meet the Composer to collaborate with local folk musicians abroad. His jazz piano quartet toured as a Jazz Ambassador in 2003, on a six-week tour of concerts and masterclasses in Russia, Central Asia, and the Caucasus. Adam has also appeared at such renowned venues as the Blue Note, Iridium, the Jazz Standard, Blues Alley, and the Knitting Factory, and at many prestigious international jazz festivals.
