Harlem Jazz Series – Kelvyn Bell

One who creates art using sound, guitarist/composer Kelvyn Bell has created a 35 year legacy as one of New York’s most diverse creative artists. After composing for theatre and film, Mr. Bell is currently focused on expressing his talents through live performance of original works. The Kelvyn Bell Fo Tet is an experimental ensemble he created to reflect the spirit of “right now music.” Utilizing New York’s top musicians, the band’s material includes new music from Kelvyn’s upcoming acoustic guitar CD as well as the current release of his internationally acclaimed avant-funk band Kelvynator. Kelvyn recorded and traveled as a sideman with music legends Arthur Blythe, Lester Bowie, DeFunkt, Cassandra Wilson, Craig Harris, Steve Coleman & Five Elements, James Carter and many others. Kelvyn Bell brings a diversity of influences and experience to his music that is sure to have you dancing, clapping and thinking higher thoughts all at once. 

1st set: Noon – 12:45pm (15-min break) 2nd set: 1:00 – 1:45pm
